A Weekend Under the Stars: The Perfect Hocking Hills Getaway

Image
Hocking Hills Bobcat Ridge :   There are getaways… and then there are the ones that quietly reset your soul without you even realizing it. This Hocking Hills stay at Bobcat Ridge   delivered exactly that. It was peaceful, playful, and layered with just enough unexpected charm to make it unforgettable.  We booked this property for a couples’ weekend, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like we had stumbled into our own private retreat tucked into the trees. The Stay: Comfort Meets Character The home is thoughtfully designed for both connection and space whether it’s family or friends who join you. That’s  something that’s surprisingly hard to find. It had bedrooms spread across three separate levels, everyone had their own little sanctuary. One of the rooms is a loft-style setup that still feels nicely tucked away, creating a cozy, semi-private hideout. There’s 1 bedroom on the main & a 3rd on the lower level (basement). This split design generates the ability...

From Delays to Dance Floors: An Honest Carnival Horizon Review

Image
My take on the  Carnival Horizon ~ A Rocky Start, but an Unforgettable Crew!   Our sailing on the Carnival Horizon didn’t exactly glide out of the gate. Between ship and engine issues, embarkation delays, and a departure that ran hours late, it was less “set sail with cheer,” more “Grab a drink, don’t watch the clock, ’cause unfortunately we’re just chillin’ at the dock” To add salt to the wonderful sea air, we missed our Grand Cayman port entirely. Not exactly the dream kickoff anyone pictures when they’re holding a fruity drink and wearing brand-new cruise sandals. But here’s the plot twist… The crew turned lemons into the finest cruise-ship lemonade. First up, our room steward, Phelan . If there were Olympic medals for hospitality, this lady would be standing on the podium with a gold medal around her neck. Always smiling, always attentive, and somehow magically appearing right when we needed something. Truly one of those people who makes you feel like you’r...

From Drowned Rat to Beach Brat: The Ultimate Jamaican Excursion

Image
Dunn’s River Falls & Bamboo Beach Club – A Jamaican Adventure You’ll Never Forget We absolutely LOVED this excursion package. If you’re looking for something that mixes adventure with laid-back beach vibes, this is it. Let’s start with Dunn’s River Falls . It’s listed as intermediate , but let me translate that into real-life terms: You will not just get wet. You will not be “a little damp.” You will look like a drowned rat… and you will love every second of it!! You climb straight UP through rushing waterfalls, natural pools, and slick rock steps while the water crashes all around you. It’s thrilling, a bit challenging, and absolutely breathtaking. This is one of those experiences where you feel alive, get soaked to the bone, and are  ridiculously proud of yourself at the top.     P ro tip of the century: Bring a waterproof bag and a waterproof phone case. Not optional. Mandatory. Unless you enjoy the idea of donating your phone to the Water Gods. You’ll want photos ...

Booked for the Dolphins, Fell in Love with Roberto the Manatee: A Travel Agent’s Review

Dolphins, Manatees & Sea Lions: An All-Inclusive Excursion That Delivered Big Smiles This excursion turned out to be one of those experiences that sticks with you long after you’re back on the ship. From start to finish, it was engaging, well organized, and packed with memorable moments for our whole group. First, the logistics. Everything ran smoothly. I purchased tickets ahead of time and they were delivered straight to the cabins. This made the morning feel easy instead of rushed. Once we arrived at port Cozumel, we were impressed with how easy it was to navigate our way to the excursion. It was well marked and easy to find. After signing our waivers we were transported to Chankanaab Park. I was impressed with how well the facility was set up. There are changing rooms , plenty of life vests for every size and clear rules that keep everyone safe… including no sunglasses or phones in the water , which makes total sense once you realize how easy it would be to lose them to ...
